joiedv's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So long, farewell... Well, that last entry I made here was a bit brusque, in retrospect. The truth is that I really, really enjoyed being a part of Diaryland for three years. Yes, it is exactly three years since I first made an entry here. It was a huge unknown at the time, and I routinely deleted entries because having those bits of me out there where anybody could see them, even if only one or two people actually did see them, was frightening. The interaction with other people here made it all worthwhile, however. I could never understand when random people would leave to write elsewhere. I couldn't imagine it being any better than it was here. In the end, I realized that is it better out there. Google Reader has given me a Buddy List that not only tells me when diarylanders update, but everyone else too. And if I miss three entries, it shows me that. And if I only have time to read one, it reminds me the next time that two entries are still waiting to be read. In the end, Diaryland just became frustrating to me. But maybe that is because it was time for me to go. I had been writing at Wordpress and redirecting for quite awhile because writing at Wordpress was quicker. And I could save drafts of entries. But I held on to Diaryland for the buddy list...now I don't need that anymore either. I still have it here, with a few locked diaries and infrequent posters on it that I haven't moved over yet. As soon as I move all my archives over (which will take a long time) I will delete everything here. I look at it as moving on to a new grade, or a new school. I still feel connected since I still read all my old buddies through GReader. And I hope most of you still read me. The link to my diary is http://lisele.wordpress.com
